Every time I pack for a trip I always say I’m gonna pack light & then I end up with my entire closet in my suitcase. This time packing less was a must since I was bringing clothes for two with it being my daughter’s first trip. I was super proud of myself when I packed my makeup & skincare because for the first time ever I fit it all in the same bag – say whaaaat!
I don’t wear any makeup during the day on vacation for obvious reasons but at night, after sweating all day, I like to spice it up a bit and wear some but keep it light of course. Especially since I was vacationing with family this time around I didn’t really need to be too glam for a night out with babies (no shade, they were better dates then some actual one’s I’ve been on).
Here are the 12 products I used for my simple vacay makeup look:
FOUNDATION: Wander Beauty Nude Illusion Foundation
My all time favourite foundation. It provides amazing coverage & leaves your skin with a glow, perfect for vacation. I only use foundation in the spots I need it (or to tone down my wicked inevitable vacation nose burn) & never apply it to my entire face. After one day at the beach the chances of your pre-vacay foundation matching your newly tanned face is pretty slim. Either buy a foundation that’s one or two shades darker or just skip it altogether to ensure your face matches your neck.
CONCEALER: Glossier Stretch Concealer
This is my absolute favourite concealer to wear in the heat. It’s easily applied with your fingers & provides a light dewy coverage that leaves your skin looking like skin. I like to look as natural as possible on vacation so I skip anything full coverage.
BRONZER: Milk Makeup Matte Bronzer in Baked
Cream bronzer is the way I go on vacation. It looks more natural & lasts longer than a powder in the heat. After applying my foundation this bronzer brought the life back into my face with a natural sun kissed tan.
BLUSH: MAC Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul
An oldie but a goodie & such a staple in my stash. If you have a fair to light skin tone this colour is so natural looking & looks AMAZING with a tan…like SO good.
BROWS: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in Medium Brown + Benefit 24-HR Brow Setter
My all time favourite combo ever. Brow Powder lasts all day for me & this brow gel could probably take your brows through a hurricane without a hair moving outta place.
EYESHADOW: Anastasia Beverly Hills in Taupe + Topaz & Makeup Geek in Grandstand + Cocoa Bear
I packed 4 shadows in my Anastasia Beverly Hills palette which is perfectly compact for travel and has a magnetic closure (side note – this palette comes free with the purchase of 4 ABH shadows). I brought 2 matte shadows & 2 shimmers all in the same bronzy colour family so I could wear them all together or on their own.
HIGHLIGHT: Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal
Just one of my favourites hands down. I wore this as a highlight, an eyeshadow topper, an inner corner highlight & brow bone highlight. Such a staple for me & also one I stock up on at Sephora when it’s a 100 point perk 😉
MASCARA: Glossier Lash Slick
This mascara literally makes your lashes look like you have lash extensions. Lightweight, lengthening & doesn’t smudged or flake (for REALs). I also brought one of my favourite waterproof mascara’s pictured above – Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof – but didn’t wear it once. This mascara is my go to for full, thick lashes but this vacay I went the more natural route.
LIPS: MAC Matte Lipstick in So Chaud & Glossier Generation G Lipstick in Cake
A little pop of colour on the lips can take any look to the next level plus it looked wicked with a tan. This particular MAC lipstick shade can be super bold which is perfect for a night out partying but with family I toned it down a bit by layering the Glossier lipstick in Cake over top. Still a fun pop of colour without blinding people with a neon lip.
& that’s it! A warm bronzy, dewy looking makeup look to make yourself feel fab for a few hours before turning into a hot sweaty mess. 🙂
